When a lot of people think about kosher wines, they are thinking about mevushal wines. These wines are not made under a Rabbi’s supervision, and therefore need to be boiled to remove impurities. Boiling the wine can severely affect the taste. There are however, many wines made just like other wines, with a few extra steps to make sure they are kept kosher. These wines do not need to be boiled therefore the flavor is unaltered. Below is a list of four kosher wines for Hanukkah this year.
This is a kosher white wine with notes of peach and apple, and a bright acid balance.
The Barkan Chardonnay is a long standing crowd pleaser made in Israel. It is a fragrant wine with notes of white peaches and citrus.
This full bodied red is also made in Israel and rich in flavor.
